"Make your wish" Campaign
Esprit makes dreams come true
In November und December 2011, Esprit captured the Christmas spirit in the unique campaign “Make Your Wish.” Based on its successful “Real People” campaigns from the 1990s, the “Make Your Wish” campaign showcased charismatic people and their personal wishes for themselves, their families, their loved ones, and the world. With this campaign, Esprit created a link to its traditions and roots not just formally, but also in terms of content. Ever since it was established, the Esprit brand and its founders have placed great importance on responsibility towards society and the environment, as well as inspiring people. The campaign, which was launched at the end of last year, touched and involved people from all over the world.
For a green future: Natuurpunt and Esprit support the restoration of the former woodland area “Waverwoud” in Flanders, Belgium.
Big green friend: children climb up trees and monitor the project.
Even little volunteers were highly committed to the restoration in Flanders.
Esprit, Natuurpunt, and many volunteers begin planting new trees on approximately 4,000 square meters of land on “Nature Day” this year.
Cherish life – Esprit makes the second wish come true: “I wish I could help the charity Yes to Life to open up new options for many, many more people with cancer.”
Explanatory work: Through the Esprit “Make Your Wish” contribution, Yes to Life is able to hold three day-long seminars in the UK for over 100 cancer patients.
Trade stands provide lots of information to individuals with cancer.
Battling cancer together (from left): Robin Daly (Chairman, Yes to Life), Patricia Peat (Director, Cancer Options), Nancy Silverstein (Director, Really Healthy Co), and Dr Rob Verkerk (Director, Alliance for Natural Health).
Workshops, conferences, seminars: Starting in 2012, Esprit will help Yes to Life inspire a renewed sense of courage in affected individuals
Urgent emergency aid: In the wake of the devastating tropical storm “Washi” in late 2011, many Filipinos lost their homes.
Devastation instead of domicile: Many houses in the Philippines have been largely destroyed.
Christmas at home: In the Philippines Esprit fulfills the third wish: “I wish I could give food to the poor this Christmas so they can also enjoy Christmas eve.”
Esprit sponsors the construction of 30 emergency shelters in the significantly affected region around Iligan City.
Protection of (natural) beauty: Esprit supports the Tropical Forest Foundation OroVerde to make the fourth wish come true: “I wish to save the tropical forest by buying a piece of it.”
Esprit sponsors OroVerde’s “Naranjitos — Regenwald kaufen und schützen” protection project. With its 33,000-hectar area, Naranjitos belongs to the core of the Sierra del Lacandón National Park in northern Guatemala.
Esprit makes the fourth wish come true, which comes from Germany: “I wish to save the tropical forest by buying a piece of it,” and makes the purchase of over 300,000 square meters possible.
A bright perspective: Esprit and OroVerde support a sustainable source of income for local residents by training forest stewards.
Home of the keel-billed toucan: Esprit and OroVerde are not only protecting a piece of the rainforest but also preserving a unique habitat for humans and animals.
Experience and commitment: With their charitable work Berliner Tafel members and volunteers reach around 125,000 individuals in need in Berlin.
Daily bread: Berliner Tafel provides an additional food supply at about 320 social facilities and in 45 “LAIB und SEELE” distribution centers.
For one month Esprit pays the Berliner Tafel’s expenses ranging from renting a warehouse space to leasing vehicles to paying for fuel.
The women behind the concept: Sabine Werth (middle) is the founder and chairman of Berliner Tafel.
