The village in Alibaug

In Alibaug, a coastal town in the state of Maharashtra, we are building 14 family houses and supporting infrastructure. The kindergarten and the social centre are also located on the site.

The design of the family houses is based on the local maratha vada style with open courtyards where the families cook in the dry season.

Water is an important issue in the area and the site has a good well. Other environmental considerations include the use of solar and photovoltaic techniques and rain water harvesting.
