Esprit introduces PETA approved vegan hangtags
Esprit, the international fashion brand for clothing and lifestyle products, has partnered up with animal rights organisation People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to introduce PETA approved vegan hangtags to mark Esprit's vegan shoe styles. The PETA approved vegan styles are available at selected Esprit retail stores in Europe and at our e-shop since this month.
“Esprit’s collection of PETA approved vegan trainers, made from eco-friendly faux leather and canvas, is a testament to how easy it is to get a stylish look that doesn’t harm any animals,” says associate director of PETA UK, Mimi Bekhechi. “Esprit is setting a wonderful and ethical example of sustainability for retailers around the world to follow.”
"We are happy about the opportunity to work with PETA on more transparency in textile labelling and thus better inform our conscious consumers." says Martin Krist, Global Business Manager Shoes, Esprit. "It is a great accomplishment for Esprit to be able to transfer the philosophy of appealing vegan fashion to a commercial lifestyle product and we thank PETA for their support."
In 2013, PETA Germany has awarded Esprit with the PETA Vegan Fashion Award for a contemporary vegan pump. Esprit is now piloting the PETA approved vegan hangtag for its vegan shoes and is considering the extension of this program for the future.
